ma+ter

'A picture is worth a thousand words'. Although the authorship of this quote is uncertain, as some of you can see, the happiness I feel when gardening is best translated when I feel my entire body rejoice when I am in a green space. I already said that researching and making art are among my favourite activities. So is gardening! So much thatI have been working, volunteering, studying, painting and writing about my (and other people's) relationship with gardens, wild plants, permaculture and circular living for almost 15 years now.
Back in Pindorama Brazil, during the years I lived in Aotearoa New Zealand and now in Belgium, urban agriculture and reforestation initiatives are a big part of what keeps me moving. I have worked in community gardens, urban farms, and in a native plant nursery.

Inspired by this call, I combined my love for (food) gardens with my teaching and artistic vocation to offer garden design workshops to the community. As we face the crucial task to pursue sustainable transitions, these tailored workshops can help people who are looking for ways to engage with the environment in a local and effective way.
I have developed ma+ter, a hands-on methodology that guides individuals and groups (educational centres, not-for-profit organisations and businesses) to set-up or restructure a garden in their place.
With proven benefits that range from improved mental and physical health to community building and increased environmental awareness, I can help you get grounded and thrive!
